STOP MOTION: Once upon a time a wolf and a pig

Stop-motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. This is a very good STOP MOTION VIDEO.

KAWAI HARO KITTY

This photo was taken in Miyajima, an island not far from Hiroshima. I love it

FUSHIMI INARI

Fushimi Inari is a Shinto Sanctuary located 2km south east from to Kyoto. It is well know for the thousand toriis (a torii is a traditional Japanese gate commonly found at the entrance of a shinto shrine) that limit the footpath through a hill around the area. That foothpath lead the visitors towards and through the wood around the area. This is Inari Shinto God of Rice, and is widely worshipped. The spirit represented by a fox figure (Kitsune) is the protector of the havest so that it has been attached to wealthness. It is often seen carrying a key in his mouth which is for the rice granary. Foxes are said to love rice balls rolled in fried tofu.
There are more than 30.000 Inari Shrines all over Japan but this is the largest and most impressive.

Those toriis have been donated by individuals, companies or families. Merchant and manufacturers worship Inari for wealth

STREETS OF TOKYO

I was testing my laptop imovie because I didn't bother to use it before and I came up with this video from my last visit to Japan. I've realized now that the quality of the images is pretty bad anyway I'll have to test it again and do more projects.

THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE WATER: AMAZING

FUNNY ANIMATED VIDEO

Taken from the following blog: http://kiteman.pixnet.net/blog

KOYASAN, IMAGES

Koyasan, a pilgrimage:
Forest

The OKUNO-IN:

This is the biggest graveyard in Japan. There are more than 250.000 tombs in a huge cedar forest.

Visitors can stay in some of the several temples of the area and experience the Buddhist temple life. However, I decided to stay in the Koyasan Youth Hostel. A comfi place to stay after a busy day visiting beautiful sites of the area.

KOYASAN

I Love Japan and I have visited several times the country. One of the most beautiful and amazing spots I have visited is KOYASAN, in the Kansai area, not far from Kyoto and Osaka

Koyasan is a monastic centre founded 12 centuries ago. It is located in a plain at the top of the Mount Koya and gathers numerous temples, santuaries, pagodas...
It's a beautiful place to enjoy the nature that surrounds it (cedar forests) and to visit the sanctuaries, temples, the museum...
You can even walk through the huge cementery 'THE OKUNO-IN', a magical place where you can find talismans left by other visitors, enjoy the environment and follow the path until reaching the Kobo Daichi Mausoleum.
Kobo Daichi, buried in the Okuno-in cementary, is considered one of the most important figures in Japanese history. He was a well known philosopher, poet and caligrapher. There are several myths linked to this figure.

He lived between the 8th and the 9th Centuries and was the founder of the Shingon Esoteric Budhism.

These are images of the OKUNO-IN
Me encanta Japón y he visitado varias veces ese magnifico país.

THE VASELINES

I want to start with this blog with a comment about a Scottish indie band called THE VASELINES.
The band was formed in the 80's and their association with Nirvana gave exposure to the band.
Kurt Cobain loved their songs and played with them in some of their gigs back in the 90's.
I had the chance to see them last year in SUMMERSONIC OSAKA and they were great.

.
